Comfort & Discipline is an album of 7 short lo-fi tracks I produced as a passion project under my alias Syv.
My aim was to create laid-back collection music to enjoy in the background and maybe even drift off to... :)
I loved bringing these songs to life, and I will definitely continue to pursue music in the future.
Responsibilities
Most of the songs feature R&B vocals from vocalist Shiloh Dynasty. I sampled these vocals and then produced the tracks around these vocals.
The cover art is done entirely by me, using a picture I shot myself and editing it to create an aesthetic for the album.
Reflection
If I were to redo this project I would pay more attention to the mixing and mastering process, to achieve a more polished and cohesive sound.
I think the album could also benefit from a slightly enhanced sound using more "ear-candy" and honing in on the classic "lo-fi" sound.
